I’ve had better mountain bike rides

This what a dog bite looks like ladies and gents. Stupid mutt got me through three layers of clothing. No matter how much you like to think dogs behave, they are unpredictable animals with Big. Pointy. Teeth.

Ever heard of someone being fatally mauled by a domestic short hair? Nope. Me neither.

Update: The dog’s vet verified today (10/29) that the dog is up to date on his vaccinations. Next stop, the doctor…to make sure I’m up to date on all of mine! In the mean time, the bruise has blossomed into an unreal color of greenish purple.

Sorry for your injury, where were you when you encountered the bad dog?

    Yummy looking thigh, tho 🙂

Where’s the emoticon for eye rolling and blushing? We were on Campbell Lake Road near the upper entrance to Pipestone Canyon.

You’ve obviously been in contact with the owner. . . I can’t say I would’ve stuck around after the encounter! I may have limped home and scolded Nick for not fending the dog off with a tire pump or other handy bike part. I’m glad he came away unscathed. My faith in canines just plummeted. Again.

The dog chased Nick too (after he took a bite out of my thigh). He gets big props for landing a foot square in the dogs face while riding.

Wow, this encounter just gets worse. I’ll have to hear the whole story on Thursday. Nick’s a brave guy to stick his appendages near the dog that nibbled on his wife. Thankfully the pooch got the message without Nick having to go completely MacGyver/Chuck Norris on it. I can’t believe you can see the complete muzzle outline on your bruise. Poor Carry!
