Mt. Hood
The good news is I’m still alive. The bad news is we didn’t make the summit of Mt. Hood yesterday due to poor conditions.
A massive avalanche came down from the Pearly Gates at about 4 a.m. Sunday morning, just as we were reaching the Hogsback. We planned on taking the Old Chute anyway, but were pretty convinced a death wish was needed to go any higher than Hogsback. The consolation prize – breakfast at the Timberline Lodge – was pretty awesome.
