Oh man, can I just say that I’ve been a little jealous lately of the people who own iPhones. Not because I actually want an iPhone or anything closely resembling a smartphone. (I like my $15 a month pre-paid cell phone, thankyouverymuch.) I AM jealous of the post-processing apps available on the iPhone for pictures, however.
Thanks to a new little program – Lo-Fi – I’ve been having mucho fun creating the same effects on my computer. This is seriously cool, people! I mean just look at how much grungier the day looks when the image is touched up just so. All of a sudden this horrible rain is tolerable (maybe).
What’s cool about Lo-Fi is that it’s a reasonably-priced standalone piece of software that does not require knowledge of Photoshop or other photo processing software. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, and the “owner’s manual” consists of three short videos totaling seven minutes.
If you’re lucky, I won’t totally overwhelm you with gratuitously overprocessed images over the next few days.
